"We, the law enforcement officers of the State of Illinois and the several political subdivisions thereof, as representatives and delegates of the subordinate Lodges, do hereby associate the several Lodges we represent and the members thereof for the following purposes...
To provide education and training for law enforcement personnel; research of issues of importance to both law enforcement and the community; and to educate and inform the public about law enforcement issues and the impact of those issues on the public.
ILEEF was founded by working law enforcement officers to fill gaps in training, research and community information not being met by law enforcement agencies due to the lack of fo financial and human resources. Its Board of Directors is comprised of members of both law enforcement and the business community.
ILEEF is funded by donations from the general public and grants. Funding received is used to provide low-cost or no cost training to police officers throughout the state, create public service announcements and further community and law enforcement partnerships.
