A clemency petition is being heard in Springfield on January 6th, 2026, for the convicted cop killer of Chicago Police Officer Michael Ceriale and the Cook County States Attorney's Office is asking for letters objecting this petition.

Mike gave up his life doing what he loved, being a cop and granting clemency to his convicted killer would be devastating to my family and a slap in the face to all those officers who serve every day.

All objection letters should be sent to ASA Jill Thornton at Jill.Thornton@cookcountysao.org by December 21st, 2025.
