The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge, chartered in 1963, is the second largest state lodge in the nation with more than 34,000 active duty and retired police officers. Simply put, the Illinois FOP State Lodge is the most respected and recognized police organization in the state.

The Illinois FOP State Lodge actively lobbies lawmakers regarding proposed and current state legislation and has an affiliated Political Action Committee to support elected officials who have a track record of backing law enforcement.

The Illinois FOP State Lodge members are provided with free accidental death and dismemberment insurance, chaplaincy care, and officer-to-officer peer support. Active duty Working members can obtain Legal Defense coverage with plans that cover Civil, Criminal, and Administrative. Retirees' coverage is also available for concealed carry under HR 218, tuition assistance, travel discounts, and health care discounts. Each year, Illinois FOP State Lodge members with college-bound students can enter them to win one $500 scholarship that is awarded per district.

And that’s not all. The Illinois FOP State Lodge’s Disaster Recovery Unit is available to assist in any situation where local law enforcement is stretched to the limit, such as in natural disaster responses or when officers are hurt or killed. Our Project Blue Life provides the opportunity to safely experience potential law enforcement shooting scenarios by using machines to allow community leaders to experience what it's like to be faced with making a life-or-death decision.
